LaRGE organized a workshop on Friday, June 16 with researchers from Kemmy Business School at EMSBS.
Last January, several members of the research center visited Kemmy Business School (University of Limerick) with the aim of establishing a stronger research partnership . The idea was to set up regular visiting professor exchanges, doctoral student stays (during which students spend several months at the partner institution), and joint scientific projects.
Building off of these initial exchanges, a research day was organized at EMSBS in the presence of a delegation of five Limerick professors:
- Dr. John Garvey (Accounting & Finance, Head of Department)
- Dr. Fergal O’Brien (Accounting & Finance, Assistant Dean Postgraduate)
- Dr. Orla McCullagh (Accounting & Finance, Lecturer)
- Dr. Illia Kovalenko (Accounting & Finance, Lecturer)
- Dr. Dónal Palcic (Economics, Assistant Dean International)
The day consisted of six presentations on a variety of finance topics. The aim was to raise awareness of research work underway at both institutions with a view to collaborating in the future.
Next steps:
- Direct, regular exchanges between researchers at the two institutions
- Participation of John Garvey in EMSBS’s Visiting Professorship program in 2023/2024
- Organization of research stays for LaRGE doctoral students
