Francis Osei-Tutu, associate professor at EMSBS, received a dissertation award from the University of Strasbourg on June 17, 2022.
During the University of Strasbourg’s doctoral graduation ceremony, 20 awards were given out to reward and recognize the authors of the most remarkable dissertations defended in 2021. They were jointly funded by the Research Committee, the Société des Amis des Universités de l'Académie de Strasbourg, and the University of Strasbourg Foundation.
Francis Osei-Tutu was awarded for his dissertation “Essais sur la banque et les institutions.”
Here is a short summary of his dissertation:
Why does financial development differ significantly from country to country? A large body of academic work shows that a country's institutional framework is fundamental in determining the level of its financial development. This dissertation therefore aims to contribute to a better understanding of how formal and informal institutions shape bank behavior.
He also wishes to thank his PhD adviser, Prof. Laurent Weill, the members of his dissertation committee, and the members of LaRGE for their valuable comments.
We send him our warmest congratulations for this noteworthy accomplishment!
